Mereka Yang Tidak Mahu Bertudung ...

Assalamualaikum Wbt. ..
Hanya nak berkongsi perkara berkaitan sorang minah Arab ni ..
Namanya Aliaa Al-Mahdy
Dia pon seorang blogger ..

Tapi yang menyedihkan  ..
Dia gunakan blog,
Untuk mencari perempuan-perempuan yang freehair,
Dan dia minta nyatakan kenapa mereka freehair ..
Perempuan yang dahulunya pakai tudung, dan kenapa kini dia buang tudung ..

So view sikit

Society's Pressure on Women to Make Them Veil Part II

My name is Reem Abdel Razek and here is my "Hijab" story. When I was ten living in Saudi Arabia I went to the amusement park one day and ran around chasing my younger brother. A Saudi man walked up to my father and said something. I was not able to make out what he was saying but my father's facial expressions changed drastically he looked at me with disgust took me home and on the way he said the man told him you're daughter is causing "fitna" he told me I must wear a veil or else people will consider me a "bad" girl" One day eight years later I was sent an image on face book that shook me to the core and caused a paradigm shift, It was the image of a covered lollipop representing the veil and an uncovered lollipop with flies on it representing women who do not wear it. I looked in the mirror and what I saw might shock people, I saw a human being I did not see a lollipop. I saw a brain I saw feelings, I saw emotions, I saw morals and ethics but "gasp" no lollipop. After critically reading about the veil I decided it was not for me. I was called a whore , lunatic , bitch, I was tortured , I was humiliated , I was kicked out of a family members house.

I wore the hijab when I was around 11 until I was 14 but I stopped being religious at around 13. I knew the reasons why muslim women wear hijab as I was told in mosque. An example similar to the one my teacher in mosque used to use and one that many muslims use today is "a woman in hijab is like a pearl in its shell, beautiful yet protected." However it wasn't for this reason I wore it, I wore it to keep a promise I made to my parents which was to wear it on my first day of high school which is when your 11 years old here in the UK. I can't think of any other reason right now to why I wore it.

When I was 12/13 years old I remember standing on a prayer matt after I had finished my prayer and deciding from now on I will not follow anything that I hadn't researched myself. I also didn't think the quote I was taught ("a woman in hijab is like a pearl in its shell, beautiful yet protected") was a valid reason to wear a hijab, as it suggests woman are objects excluding the fact that they have feelings, this made me wonder what's the difference between woman in music videos who falunt their body and a woman in hijab
since they're both seen as objects.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last Ramadan, an ikhwani stopped me and my friend in Tahrir square and told us to change the way we dress and two men shouted at me and another friend "البسوا إيشاربات" on our way home after so7our. On Salafi Friday, Salafis didn't let another friend enter the square and said to her "ملابسك غير لائقة". People got another girl off a stage in Tahrir because she was wearing leggings. I hear many comments on my clothes and comments like "هاتتعلقي من شعرك في النار" when I walk down the streets of Egypt. These are just examples of harassment of unveiled women in the street.
